NAUI Instructor Trainer Angelo Dragone Includes At-Risk, Underprivileged Adults and Children, Handicapped Individuals and Injured Veterans In Scuba

Goshen, NY (PressExposure) September 25, 2008 -- Director of Operations for "Freedom Divers", an adaptive needs Scuba program, Angelo Dragone facilitates Scuba instruction and Scuba experiences for those individuals who would otherwise not get such valuable opportunities. Scuba diving requires funds and places a high demand on the body. By making it accessible to at-risk, underprivileged adults and children, handicapped individuals and injured veterans, Angelo Dragone has distinguished himself in the dive community as a leader who cares.

Angelo is retired after working almost 30 years for New York State Forensic Mental Hygiene in a maximum security facility and spends most of his waking moments teaching diving, talking diving and diving. He is now an Associate Member of and Special Training Consultant to the Sullivan County Water Rescue and Recovery team, and has been diving since 1993 with over two thousand logged dives.

Freedom Divers is a program of Hoops Express, Inc, a nonprofit 501C(3), community based organization that provides an array of supportive services to at-risk, school aged youth in the Newburgh (Orange County), New York area. Founded in 1998 and formally incorporated in November of 2000, Hoops Express was established to promote positive individual development for at-risk youths through the provision of educational, athletic, and cultural programs. Through the designs of these programs Hoops Express helps raise academic performance, build leadership skills, and improve the socialization skills and physical health of program participants and their families.
