New Delhi, India (PressExposure) June 26, 2011 -- According to the recently published QS Asian University Rankings - IT & Engineering report NSIT - Delhi, which represents Delhi University's Faculty of Technology is ranked 49th in Asia. NSIT is among the 8 Indian institutions to make it to top 50 this year.
"This is exciting news and an affirmation of the caliber of the students and strength of brand NSIT in the global context," said Rajnish Bansal, an NSIT Alumnus and a Researcher at Cypress Semiconductors in Silicon Valley. "NSIT has been focusing on R&D and has produced a lot of cutting edge research in the recent years."
NSIT represents the Faculty of Technology at University of Delhi. It admits students through All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and is among the most after college by over 1.2 million students that appear for the entrance examination. IT as a course at NSIT was added in 2006 to cater to growing demand for IT engineers in the world.
NSIT has been ranked among top 10 engineering institutions in the country by several ranking agencies. Most recently, national newspaper Times of India ranked NSIT at number 4 for campus recruitments, ahead of several IITs and NITs.
'What differentiates NSITians from other engineers is their focus on developing superior communication skills, higher education and collaboration" Bansal added.
Government of Delhi, which declared NSIT as "Capital's Pride" a few years ago is developing a Science and Technology Park (STP) at NSIT with the key objective being to 'establish Delhi as the hub of the knowledge industry'. This will enable greater innovation and industry interface for the students and faculty.
Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) was established by the name of Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT) in July 1983. Started with a view to churn out highly competent, intelligent and dedicated engineers, the institute has more than achieved its motto by emerging as one of the leading tech schools of the country. Unlike the clichéd saying that 'engineers are not created but are born', NSIT does a commendable job in training students to achieve excellence in technical research as well as a hoard of extra-curricular activities.
