New York, NY (PressExposure) September 02, 2011 -- NetCom Learning announced today the winner of the Sarder Scholarship for IT professionals. The $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Sereta Scott, a recent graduate of CUNY College Computer Systems program, to further pursue her training in the IT industry.
Named for benefactor Russell Sarder, who is the chairman and CEO of NetCom Learning, the scholarship was created as a way to give back to the community and further Sarder's mission to foster an environment of lifelong learning. Each month NetCom Learning awards a different student the scholarship.
"Awarding this scholarship each month is such a satisfying experience because it's great to hear each student's success story. But it also reinforces my belief that encouraging a passion for lifelong learning is the only way to achieve success. Each student has different goals and aspirations but the common thread they share is that desire to learn," Sarder said.
Scott, who said her interest is in information and cyber security, said her goals include starting her career as a network administrator before advancing to Chief Information Officer.
"I would like to be part of a great team to help combat the cyber crime our country is currently facing. This Scholarship will help me get the training I need to broaden my networking skill set and the ability to manage and secure network systems," Scott said of winning the award.
The scholarship is open to individuals of any background or skill level. It can be applied to any of NetCom Learning IT training courses. To find out how to qualify for the Sarder Scholarship visit http://www.netcomlearning.com/scholarship/sarder-scholarship-rules.phtml
