Since its inception over 20 years ago, Castle Bay has been selling golf club iron covers, golf club putter covers and wood head covers to major retailers and national distributors in large or full box quantities. A trip to a local retail store was required for an individual to buy a set of Castle Bay classic iron covers, but with the addition of the new online store a purchase of a single set is available at the click of the mouse.
âCastle Bay has long served the individual golfer through retail outlets, and until now that was their only choice. Our business decision to open the online store not only serves the individual golfer, but gives Castle Bay the opportunity to maintain a leadership position as the best selling iron covers in the world,â said Jeff Barket, Director of Sales and Marketing for Castle Bay and all the divisions of Sinclair & Rush, Inc.
The Castle Bay iron cover resulted from a combination of the growing enthusiasm for the game of golf and the engineering expertise of the Sinclair and Rush Company. Many may recall the old hard plastic face protectors used in the early 70s and 80s, but protecting just the face of the club was not as interesting to the Sinclair and Rush engineers as was protecting the entire golf head. Thus, the concept was born to create a functional club cover that not only protects the entire golf head, but extends beyond to protect a small portion of the shaft, as well.
âTiming is everything, and once the club cover discussion began, we knew dip molding was the perfect answer. After many hours of research and development followed by trial and error tests, we succeeded in designing the classic Castle Bay dip molded iron cover,â said Phil Brewer, Director of Engineering for the Sinclair and Rush companies. âDriving the design of this product was the simple fact that we wanted to expand the use of our dip molding facilities at a time when there was a growing quest to spend leisure time on the golf course.â
Today, Castle Bay iron covers remain the best selling iron cover in the world. Through the years, enhancements to the material formulation has lead to greater quality in durability and flexibility while maintaining the great design elements so important to the functionality. Clear packaging allows the golfer to view the product to encourage his vision of how the covers will fit and look on his valuable golf clubs. See for yourself.
