Dallas, TX (PressExposure) April 25, 2012 -- Frustrated by layoffs, a Plano husband and wife team decided to put their negotiation experience to a better use by creating a do-good startup called SaversCloud. The couple wishes to give Texas consumers a unique way to save on electricity bills by using the power of group buying.
"We are looking for 10,000 households to join hands for a common good and rise against high electric bills," said Umair Bokhari, CEO of SaversCloud. "We want to give Texas consumers a smarter way to save even more than what they can get on the price comparison sites."
After being through one of the hottest summer on record, Umair Bokhari and his wife Tiffany, co-founders of SaversCloud, concluded that there had to be numerous Texas families needing relief from high electricity bills.
Electricity deregulation in the Texas has now been around for over 10 years. Households have mostly been left out from the power buying pools that the commercial entities have been taking advantage of to lower their electric bills. The idea behind SaversCloud is to provide free access to the market expertise and potential savings for everyone.
"We believe that we can secure lower electricity rates from major retailers in the industry by using our collective buying power. This is a new concept in the household energy market but we believe that in these tough economic times, customers are open to creative ways of saving money on essential utilities. We can negotiate for much deeper discounts and create extra value for participating consumers. Through SaversCloud, a household can get rates that are not advertised anywhere," Bokhari said.
Consumers interested in participating in the program can register free of charge online at http://www.BigElectricSwitch.com. Once on the site, participants are asked for basic information about their bill. By registering, Consumers are only giving the company the right to include them in group negotiations. Consumers are not obligated to switch their electric providers. Once the group discount rate has been negotiated, consumers will have an opportunity to sign a contact with a major electric company.
A similar concept has had an overwhelming success in Australia and United Kingdom, where consumers are saving more than 20% on utility bills. The group hopes to duplicate the success in Texas.
Texas businesses and residents have until May 31, 2012 to sign up to participate in the Big Electric Switch Program.
"We will be the voice of the consumer during negotiations with the electric companies. The final deal will be shared with members, at which point they can decide whether to accept or decline the deal." SaversCloud Inc. (PUCT#80345) is licensed by the Public Utility Commission of Texas to aggregate electricity throughout Texas.
