London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) November 24, 2009 -- Serenata Flowers, an award winning UK florist has developed an "avoid the school run" option so that parents dropping off or picking up their children will not leave the home and miss that important delivery.
Serenata Flowers has developed its online services procedure further in order to remove a major problem from buying on Internet. The company made the progress after some market investigations that showed that missing a delivery was a huge annoyance of shopping online.
For example during Christmas, millions of Brits will be turning to the web over the next month to buy gifts for their loved ones. But despite the growing online shopping phenomenon, delivery difficulties are leaving some consumers unhappy.
Market researches indicate that up to half of online deliveries cannot take place since there is nobody at home. The transport may have to be left at a predefined defined location or with neighbors, risk leaving them in a "safe place" near the doorstep, or postpone the delivery time.
In a number of cases do online shoppers have to steal time from work just to secure the delivery of a special packet and it is obvious that online business should offer a more convenient service.
Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Flowers, explained it was therefore he have developed the extra service evening and the "avoid school run" delivery slots to add to the conventional am or pm times. At the same time Serenata also begun with a free Saturday delivery service.
He said: "Parents who are normally at home often miss deliveries in the morning or in the afternoon this may be the case because they have to do the school run. Allowing people to schedule am/pm/evening/avoid school-run or Saturday delivery greatly helps people to avoid staying at home for a whole day just to wait for a delivery. Quite a few people I know can or will be staying at home during daytime just so they can be present for an anticipated delivery. So while online shopping has without doubt saved us lots of time, the the issue of solving the transport is still a problem to solve for many."
