New Mineral Makeup Product Line Announced

Santa Clarita, CA (PressExposure) September 24, 2007 -- Imagine - a makeup that looks like you're wearing nothing, feels like you're wearing nothing, and stays on all day without caking or blotching. One that is safe for all skin types - acne prone, those suffering from rosacea, and sensitive skins. Mineral makeup is so easy to apply, even my 14 year old daughter can whip on foundation without leaving any visible lines between her face and neck! When one thinks of mineral makeup, the popular line known as Bare Escentuals - a product made popular by Oprah Winfrey - often is the first name that comes to mind. Unknown to many, Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals can be misleading in their claim that their products are "pure" minerals. When looking at many of today's well known mineral products, it isn't uncommon to find that they contain bismuth oxychloride. Although this is technically a mineral (just not a mineral derived from the earth), bismuth is the by-product of lead and copper processing, and frequently used to "bulk up" products. Bismuth can be irritating to the skin.

Purely Cosmetics offers a full line of mineral makeup without bismuth oxycholoride or any other fillers, such as talc. Foundation powders, blushes, setting powders, and eye powders consist of mica, iron oxides, and titanium dioxide (the latter two are primary ingredients found in sunscreen). Unlike some of their counterparts, no mineral veil is needed to "set" the foundation on your face. Although setting powders are offered, they serve a different function: to aid in color correction and/or to provide a more matte finish. Color correctors, concealers, and a clay product called Oil Absorb finish out the foundation basics. The 30 gram sifter jars of foundation carry a full 6 grams of powder, while many competitors only contain a net weight of 2-4 grams for much the same price.

To further distinguish Purely Cosmetics from other mineral makeup products, the eye powders are offered in a multitude of colors - not all of which are shimmering. More mature adults are less likely to want eyes that sparkle from eyelash to eyebrow; in addition to shimmery, iridescent colors, eye shadows are also available in semi-matte and matte finishes. These powders can be worn on the eyes (dry as eye shadow, or dipped with a wet brush and applied as eyeliner), with a clear lip balm or gloss as lipstick (except those marked as containing ferric ferrocyanide), or with clear nail polish for a color co-ordinated look.

Accessories such as cosmetic brushes and starter kits are also offered. Purely Cosmetics offers two different starter kits: an Eye Kit that includes 4 choices of eye powders along with 2 types of eye shadow brushes, and a Face Kit consisting of a foundation powder, blush powder, choice of color corrector or setting powder, and two brushes: foundation and blush.

Purely Cosmetics offers their products for sale on their company website, http://www.PurelyCosmetics.com. Wholesale beauty supply stores are also welcomed.
