Well, get ready to watch the hillbillies get hitched in a new comedic web series from creator Catherine Natale. Though Catherine is a New Jersey native and Los Angeles resident, she knows a thing or two about redneck weddings. That's because she has become an expert in the Southern tradition while prepping for her new web-series project entitled, "Redneck Weddings".
The series has been described as Beverly Hillbillies meets Dallas meets Arrested Development. In that regard, "Redneck Weddings" takes a comedic look a dysfunctional family of sorts from Arkansas who live, work, and play at Wedding Drops Chapel in Cutler Arkansas.
The chapel consists of a half-baked Elvis wannabe preacher, a dizzy sexy nudist who owns the chapel, a frustrated photographer and makeover guru, and a paranoid oil tycoon nudist who is richer than Warren Buffett.
The show revolves around Breesy, a hopeless romantic, and her quest to find the love of her life and have a Big Ole Redneck Wedding. Breesy is from Texas and in her town she has been labeled as the kiss of death. Every man who asks her hand in marriage drops dead before she even has a chance to put her wedding dress on for her big day. In her need to find a husband, she travels to Cutler, Arkansas (fictional town) where she answers an ad to be a wedding consultant she lives and works at Wedding Drops Chapel.
What is so special about Wedding Drops Chapel? It promises everlasting love! The show is about love, searching for something more, acceptance, and family - no matter how dysfunctional!
The series project is being launched on Kickstarter.com. Kickstarter is the world's largest funding platform for creative projects. The cast is made up of Shelly Desai (Always Sunny in Philly, Men of a Certain Age); Catherine Natale (Burlesque, Wheels, Hope & Faith, Jon Benjamin has a Van and Second City); Liz Lythe (Act Natually); Denis O' Mahoney; Andrew Stubblefield; alongside Steve Boyce ( My Name is Earl & Hanna Montana); Ted Sroka; and Benton Luke.

"Redneck Weddings" is seeking funding via Kickstarter.com. Producers would like to raise $10,000 enabling them to produce six webisodes, and ultimately, pitch the project to a TV cable networks. In preparation, a pilot script and show bible has already been written. In addition, a promotional trailer has been shot and is on Kickstater.com along with a pilot presentation called "Meet the Characters" on the shows website: redneckweddingstv.com.
This is a grassroots effort that reflects a truly collaborative effort of like-minded actors and actresses with the valid need to express oneself! The possibilities for "Redneck Weddings" are endless and already there has been quite a show if interest.
