Albany, NY (PressExposure) March 26, 2009 -- Forum Nokia, Nokiaâs global developer programme, challenges mobile and web application developers worldwide to compete in the Calling all Innovators ([http://www.callingallinnovators.com/]) contest by submitting best-in-class applications for use on Nokia devices.
About the Contest The Calling All Innovators contest is open to anyone and mobile and web application developers worldwide to submit entries in three categories: â¢ Internet innovation â Applications which can transform consumer-focused ideas into real applications on Nokia devices using technologies that include Nokia Web Runtime, XHTML, CSS, Java Script, AJAX, widgets and other standards-based web technologies. â¢ Flash â Applications which expand the capabilities and user benefits of Flash Lite on Nokia S60 devices. â¢ Emerging Markets and Mobile Necessities â For applications across mobile technology platforms â ranging from SMS through Series 40 and S60 device platforms. All applications will be considered, including those developed using Java, Python, or open source.
Awards The top three submissions in each category will receive cash and prizes that include: â¢ Grand Prize winner: $30,000 USD in cash; "Spotlight" placement featuring the winning application for 4 weeks on the top page of Nokia's newly announced Ovi Store, where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices; and paid travel to demo the winning application at a Nokia-specified event in the Fall 2009. â¢ 2nd Place: $15,000 USD in cash; "Spotlight" placement featuring the winning application for 3 weeks on a relevant category page in Nokia's newly announced Ovi Store, where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices. â¢ 3rd Place: $10,000 USD in cash; "Spotlight" placement featuring the winning application for 2 weeks on a relevant category page in Nokia's newly announced Ovi Store, where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices.
In addition, the winning applications in all three categories will be reviewed by Nokia for possible preload on future Nokia devices. In the Flash category, there is an additional prize of $10,000 USD, for one application that also received money from the Open Screen Project Fund this year.
The top 10 submissions in all three categories will receive the Judgeâs Choice Award, which provides a one-year membership in Forum Nokia Launchpad (value of 300 euros).
