Singapore, Singapore (PressExposure) July 23, 2009 -- /1888PressRelease/ Novotel Clarke Quay, one of the best located Singapore hotels, has been seeing early bookings for the Singapore Art Show. The promise of seeing bookings so far ahead of schedule leads the hotel to believe that they will be close to capacity over the Art Show period.
The Singapore Art Show aims to: ⢠Showcase artworks from various media and genres within visual arts ⢠Reach out to new and existing visual artists in Singapore and involve them in the arts community ⢠Reward prominent talent ⢠Create public art
The Singapore Art Show is a biennial event, following the lead of prestigious sister shows in Venice, Shanghai, Busan and Kwangju.
The related Singapore Arts Festival, held from May 15 to June 14 2009, smashed attendance expectations recently. Numbers increased by around 33% over last year (from 600,000 to 800,000. The Festival also achieved a 92.5% house attendance, the highest since 1986.
Simon Jones, Resident Manager of Novotel Clarke Quay, believes the early bookings at the 4-star Singapore hotel, along with these attendance figures, is indicative of a general trend in regional culture. "We are hearing more and more guests ask for information about local cultural and artistic events, and often a spike in bookings around the time of popular festivals. The current Singapore River Festival is good example of this. We believe that our central location and the value that our pricing represents is a major factor in guest bookings".
Novotel Clarke Quay has long been known as a supporter of Singapore events and festivals, most recently as accommodation sponsor for the Singapore Campfire Festival â in conjunction with the Singapore River Festival.
