Morrisville, NC (PressExposure) April 15, 2009 -- OSScamps are unconferences where there are no audiences; everyone is a participant, who are also the organizers of the event. The Delhi camp, held on 28-29 March, was a good example of how OSSCamps continue to innovate and stay true to the concept of unconferences. The participants at the Delhi camp took the onus of taking the event forward by making on-the-spot decisions of scheduling talks, preparing presentations and conducting the informal sessions.
The latest OSSCamp Delhi took place on March 28-29 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The schedule included 11 talks on various topics, including: Introduction to Backtrack, 3D scientific Visualization using Mayavi and Mlab and CSS amongst the informal discussions on Linux, Ignite Format for Presentation making, Git, SVN, jQuery, Dojo and everything else that campers could think off, open source. The scheduled talks on Day 2 included: How do companies leverage on open source, The Semantics web, Code Revision with Git amongst 2 talks on the concept of Ignite.
Around 76 campers comprising Students, Developers, Professionals, Bloggers, Entrepreneurs, Hackers, System Architects, and Project Managers participated in the camp. The presence of participants is indispensable for the success of an unconference, and so is the support and promotion. "OSSCube has always played an important role in the success and propagation of OSSCamps â be it supporting the organization effort, contributing content to the camps or help promote the event.
