Philadelphia, PA (PressExposure) October 23, 2012 -- Bruce C. Fox was recently named as President of the University of Pittsburgh Law Alumni Association. Fox's term runs through 2013.
The Law Alumni Association aims to enhance the interests of the School of Law and its alumni through the establishment of student scholarships and a variety of activities that recognize and support alumni and current law students. There are approximately 9,000 University of Pittsburgh law alumni. Fox received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1984, where he served on the Law Review as Notes and Comments Editor.
Fox is co-partner-in-charge in the Pittsburgh office of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He concentrates his practice in complex litigation in federal court, including class action, employment, environmental, civil rights, intellectual property and commercial litigation matters.
Fox is a frequent lecturer and writer on litigation topics and has authored the antitrust chapter of the ABA's Annual Review of Developments in Business and Corporate Litigation, 2003 and 2004 editions. In addition, he is active in various community endeavors, including the New Leadership Board of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Board of Governors of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Alumni Association, and the Board of Advisers for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law International LLM program. He is also a fellow in the Allegheny County Bar Association. He has also been active in the Pittsburgh Technology Council and the MIT Forum. Fox is named as one of Pennsylvania's "Super Lawyers" as listed in both the Philadelphia Magazine (June 2005 & 2007 editions) and the Law and Politics Magazine, "Pennsylvania Super Lawyers" (2005 & 2007 editions).
