Ohio Elections Commission Rules in Favor of Stivers Finds Stivers Ad to be Factual and Correct

Columbus, Ohio (PressExposure) October 26, 2010 -- The Ohio Elections Commission (OEC) today found Mary Jo Kilroy's complaint against Steve Stivers to be without merit and probable cause. The OEC ruled in favor of Stivers 2 to 1 in a bipartisan decision. The Commission found that the China ad was in fact, factual and correct and Kilroy's complaint had no merit.

"The ruling by the OEC today ensures Mary Jo Kilroy can no longer hide from her terrible job-killing record with trial lawyer tactics," said Stivers spokesman John Damschroder. "Her complaint was frivolous and merely a PR stunt to avoid talking about the issues that really matter to voters: the out-of-control spending by Congress, the skyrocketing national debt and stagnant job growth."

Instead of talking about the issues that matter to Ohioans, Kilroy has attempted time after time to attack Steve Stivers. The Kilroy campaign filed the claim with the OEC on October 21, 2010 questioning a Stivers for Congress TV advertisement that has been proven to be factually correct.

Here are the facts on the Stivers for Congress Ad:

· The Stimulus Bill did not include a "Buy American" provision.

· The "Buy American" provision WOULD HAVE protected jobs from going overseas.

· Congresswoman Kilroy voted for the Stimulus Bill - without the "Buy American" provision.

· As a result, jobs were created overseas, including China.

"We stand by our TV ad and look forward to continuing to present Steve's message to Central Ohioans," Damschroder said. "Congresswoman Kilroy needs to take ownership of her record - rest assured, we will continue to hold the Congresswoman accountable for the votes she has made in Congress."
