San Francisco, California (PressExposure) December 04, 2008 -- Party time, wine lovers. December 5th marks the 75th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition...a dark and sober time except for the seedy world of organized crime. Honest winemakers couldn't make a dime during the Depression, while bootleggers had a grand ole time. The madess stopped December 5th, 1933 when President Rosevelt cut off the illegal trade, and got those dollars contributing to the nation's tax coffers.
Pehaps after the January 20th Inauguration of President-elect Obama, leftover inter-state shipping constraints will also be banished.
In the meantime, Napa Valley Gold Medal winning winemaker, Scott Harvey say, "Let 'em eat cake and drink forte." And here's the wineries special receipe. Party like it's December 5th, 1932!!
