Christchurch, New Zealand (PressExposure) December 04, 2010 -- Since the last press release Richard Kenny; the founder of the One Dollar from One Million People.com website and charity campaign has made some great progress. In the first week alone he generated over 50 donations for the Cancer Society of New Zealand, everyone that has made a donation has their name on the websites' homepage for all to see, Richard tells me it's a great way to help people feel good about the donation they have made by seeing their name on the actual homepage and they will want to show their friends the good deed they have done . "During the first few days I wasn't sure whether this was going to work but after the end of the first week the support has been great on a local level, what we need to do now is reach the global audience." Richard explains.
For those that haven't heard already, the One dollar from one million people campaign aims to do exactly that, all donations made through the website are then paid to the Cancer Society of New Zealand who then distribute the funds as they see fit.
Richard says "People who suffer the effects of this disease are unwilling participants usually at a time in their lives when finances are the last thing they should be worrying about, a taxi to the hospital for treatments can be missed due to lack of funds, the Cancer Society makes sure they get to that appointment and more, your donations have a direct benefit to the ones in need."
The first donation receipt is now on the website for all to see, people need to know their donation is going where Richard says it will. We have just had a letter written for the website from the Cancer Society authenticating the campaign, this has added some real credibility to the site which is what Richard says they needed to move forward, with some big names set to be on the donation list in the near future showing their support you can be sure this isn't the last we've heard from Richard and http://www.onedollarfromonemillionpeople.com.
Future plans are to get as many household names as possible on the homepage to show even the celebrities/sports players/moviestars etc. care too.
