Margaretville, New York (PressExposure) July 23, 2009 -- Quantum physics for kids may not sound like the easiest or most likely topic for a children's story book. But, recently, Kimberly Wickham's "Angels and Horses" series - including the titular "Angels and Horses" and its sequel, "Summer of Magic Horses" - has been attracting a growing fan base by combining the warmth and wonder of traditional horse books with what The Argus calls "the first children's book based on the philosophies of quantum physics." Based on the Law of Attraction, the idea, first popularized in self-help phenomenon "The Secret," that individuals have the power attract the things they want in life on a quantum level, the philosophy underlying the "Angels and Horses" series encourages children to think creatively and outside the box to achieve their dreams. The books, Wickham says, "attempts to instill in children the sense that staying positive can help you have the life you really want," a far cry from the materialistic and shallow lessons taught by such tween sensations as "The A-List" and "Gossip Girl."
Now, the increasingly popular literary phenomenon is adding a new installment to its ranks. Wickham's third book in the series, "Angels, Horses, and Other Worldly Lessons," is hitting shelves on July 30. While the first two books in the series focused on Tina, a lonely but resourceful young girl, and her beloved pet horse Dancer as she learned more about the "Cosmic Lattice," and the metaphysical world outside the visible one, "Angels, Horses, and Other Worldly Lessons" expands its focus to explore the adventures of Tina's friends Chucky and Polly as well, while still allowing devoted readers to chronicle the emotional and philosophical journey of their favorite protagonist. As the children discover what Augusta's Metro Sprit calls "a land of mystery in the workings of the universe," they learn more about how to cope with the day-to-day reality of their "normal" dimension, resolving conflicts with character and grace.
"Angels, Horses, and Other Worldly Lessons" is published by Trafford Publishers. Order any of the books in the series - or prints or cards of Kimberly Wickham's art - at http://www.kimberlywickham.com
