Dubai, India (PressExposure) August 15, 2012 -- Leading trade fair organiser reports strong growth figures.
With over 70,000 buyers, key decision makers and trade visitors flocking to their exhibitions and conferences in Dubai through the first half of 2012, leading trade show and conference organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, reported a successful H1 2012.
First half figures released by the German trade fair organiser indicate that 71,725 trade visitors attended the exhibitions held in the first six months of the year as compared to 62,764 in H1, 2011 - an increase of 14%. 3,501 exhibitors from all over the world participated in the exhibitions held so far, 13% more than the 3,099 who participated in the same period last year.
The figures indicate the continuing interest among leading international players in gaining access to the Middle East markets, which are powered by surging regional economies. Additionally, the success of the trade fairs and conferences underline the ongoing effectiveness of Epoc Messe Frankfurt-organised trade events in stimulating growth, promoting business development and creating avenues for an exchange of ideas within the industries they represent.
"The continued ability of our trade fairs in attracting greater industry-wide participation and involvement can be attributed to the fact that they are finely-tuned to the unique needs and sentiments of the market," said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. "Under the umbrella of the Messe Frankfurt brand which has been associated with successful trade events for over 900 years, our teams have been able to study the trends and needs of the regional markets and we have endeavoured to tailor events to closely match those requirements.
"While we look forward to an equally successful H2, we are also continuing to research and review the prospects for new business opportunities in order to further strengthen our presence across the region," he added.
The trade fairs returning the best performances represented key industries that attract high interest in the wider Middle East region. With nearly 20,000 trade visitors from 108 countries turning up - an increase of 18% over last year - Intersec continues to be among the most successful exhibitions on the Epoc Messe Frankfurt calendar.
The high growth rates Dubai is experiencing in imports, exports and re-exports for the automotive aftermarket was also reflected in the growth of Automechanika Dubai - which celebrated 10 years of doing business in the region. The leading automotive aftermarket trade event drew in 20,715 trade visitors from 120 countries and 1,324 exhibitors - up 20% from last year's numbers. Additionally, the size of the overall exhibition grew by 24% in the same period.
Beauty continued to be big business in the region, with Beautyworld Middle East continuing its strong growth story. The leading trade fair and conference for the beauty, hair and wellness industries drew in nearly 25% more trade visitors than last year (preliminary figures estimate a trade visitor count of 22,415) and saw a 23% increase in space sold.
The next trade exhibition and conference under the Messe Frankfurt portfolio for 2012 will be Light Middle East taking place from October 1st to 3rd at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Light Middle East covers the lighting design and technology industry and includes a comprehensive conference programme attracting key regional professionals within the field.
