New York, NY (PressExposure) September 09, 2009 -- Paltalk, the leading real-time, video-based chat community with over four million active members, today announced they have teamed with Africa Fighting Malaria, MarchofWashingtons.org and Hedge Funds vs. Malaria & Pneumonia, to raise funds to fight the spread of Malaria. Paltalk has pledged to donate $1 to the cause for every new registration it receives.
On September 15th, Paltalk will host special guests Lance Laifer, Founder of Hedge Funds vs Malaria & Pneumonia, Richard Tren, Director of Africa Fighting Malaria, Robert Mather from the Against Malaria Foundation and Scott Case, Vice Chairmen of Malaria No More. The September 15th event date was chosen to coincide with the opening of the 64th Session of the United Nation's General Assembly. Each of the guests will discuss their part in fighting malaria and how the average person can help save lives around the world. They will also take questions from video chat participants.
Malaria is the leading cause of death for children under age 5 in sub-Saharan Africa, and a predominant killer of pregnant women and their unborn children. This tragedy is due to lack of access to effective treatment and preventative tools. All funds donated by Paltalk will go toward providing an African in need of malaria treatment with a safe and effective one and toward conducting quality control of testing anti-malarial drugs within Africa.
"We are committed to helping raise money to treat malaria," said Judy Shapiro, Paltalk's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "With effort and funds, no one need suffer from malaria."
