Cupertino, California (PressExposure) October 06, 2009 -- ParaScale, Inc., a startup company developing cloud storage solutions, today announced that Matthew Geddes, member of technical staff, will speak to attendees of Storage Networking World (SNW) Fall 2009 about distributed file systems and global namespaces on Wednesday, October 14,, 2009 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix, AZ.
Entitled âGlobal Namespaces for Summer,â Mr. Geddesâ 45 minute presentation will assert that distributed file systems and global namespaces are becoming a common genus in the enterprise ecology. Using the Microsoft DFS species as an example, this session will explore the generic concepts behind these creatures and dissect the DFS species to help attendees understand some of the specifics. Attendees will obtain a solid understanding of the distributed file systems and global namespaces from a high-level perspective. They will gain an appreciation for the important and relevant exchanges in the DFS protocol specifically, and how this relates to the enterprise. Additionally, Mr. Geddesâ will present several generic use cases for distributed file systems.
Mr. Geddes has been involved with CIFS and related protocols for over a decade and in a variety of capacities. In addition to development on CIFS and DFS implementations, he has also spent time in the trenches as a systems and network administrator.
