The Treasury Department of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has appointed Jeffrey S. Batoff, a partner in the firm of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel, to the Advisory Board of the Tuition Account Program (TAP). Mr. Batoff was appointed by the Speaker of the House, Keith R. McCall. The announcement of Mr. Batoff's appointment was made by Rob McCord, State Treasurer.
Mr. McCord stated: "Given the current economic conditions in our nation, you are joining the Advisory Board at a very important time."
The Treasury Department, through its TAP Bureau with the support and guidance of the Advisory Board, offers the Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program. Pennsylvanians, who save for college through program, receive many benefits not available through any other type of college savings. The benefits include great federal and state tax advantages.
"I am delighted that the Treasury Department has chosen to appoint me to this highly important Board that is empowered to assist college bound students throughout Pennsylvania," commented Mr. Batoff.
