The Fashion Institute was founded by Fernando Burgo in 1961, his long and thriving experience in the area of fashion has proven to be successfully. His commitment to share in his knowledge with each and every student interested in fashion is the result of his 40 years of experience in the fashion industry. His direction enables the students to be in touch with the fashion world and all opportunities of training and work the fashion industry has to offer. The teachers are selected from various ateliers in Milan. Their innovative ideas have attributed to the diverse teaching method that the Institute di Moda Burgo has adopted.
At the end of every school year Istituto di Moda Burgo organizes a fashion show for its students. This is a great event for the school staff and also for people who's working in this field because they can discover new talented designers. Moreover the institute takes part to other events with the most important fashion organizations, institutional organs and fashion companies. Since the beginning of its activity, the Istituto di Moda Burgo tried to give its students suitable instruments, such as books, duplicated lecture notes, curves, squares, in order to teach the fashion system.
The experience reached through several books' editions culminated in the realization of two books which the experts of fashion consider the milestones of the fashion teaching methods. They are " Il Modellismo" (last edition 2009) and "Il Figurino" (last edition 2008). These books are constantly up-dated so that can be abreast of the continual evolution in the fashion world.
