Stowmarket, Suffolk United Kingdom (PressExposure) December 19, 2011 -- Bespoke kitchen design company, Plain English, is to support the charitable organisation, Community Kitchens Project, by donating £150 from every kitchen they sell, to help fund young and disadvantaged Care Leavers complete a 'Cook & Taste' course in Islington, London.
Each donation the bespoke kitchens company, will pay for one young person to complete a 5-session course, provided by Community Kitchens Project, which will educate them in shopping for nutritional food and cooking it healthily on a budget, boosting their confidence and knowledge to live independently.
"Community Kitchens Project is doing much needed, valuable work for young, vulnerable people who haven't had the best start in life and we are delighted to be able to contribute and support such a worthy cause." (Katie Fontana, Creative Director of Plain English)
Community Kitchens Project has teamed up with Independent Futures, a support service for Islington Care Leavers, who are responsible for looking after and helping over 400 young people progress from foster care and begin their own lives as independent adults. These young people were originally placed into care by their local authorities due to problems in the family home which would have impeded their well-being, education and development.
"Demand for our services is higher than ever, but like many charities, recent cuts have severely affected Community Kitchens Project. With support from Plain English we will be able to run more healthy cooking initiatives. In particular we will prioritize young Care Leavers, who are keen and really benefit from participating in our activities."
