Playa del Carmen Real Estate - New Highway Bridge Nears Completion

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico (PressExposure) October 19, 2010 -- Playa del Carmen real estate is soon to benefit from a new series of highway bridges being built over the city's 5 main intersections with the highway. The project, which is nearing completion, will benefit property values by increasing speed of access, and reducing unnecessary traffic in the downtown area.

The bridge project, which was started earlier in 2010, spans the entire central area of the Playa del Carmen passing downtown and the major intersections on either side. The system includes three bridges, the first of which arriving from Cancun stretches over 3 major intersections, with one on and off ramp for access.

The second two bridges each pass over one of the city's two main downtown/beachfront access roads from the highway (Constituyentes and Juarez.) The spaces between the three bridges allows travelers who choose to bypass the first series of intersections to have access to the central downtown area and the main beach access points.

The bridges over Juarez is virtually complete, with the central span already connected, and streetlights installed. Finishing details are being carried out. The bridge over Constituyentes has been compeleted from both ends, and is now being connected in the middle. The longest section, closest to Cancun, still has the most amount of work remaining, but has also advanced rapidly and will be completed within a a relatively short time.

Playa del Carmen real estate will benefit from the bridges in two ways. One is that those living in gated communities on either extreme of the city will have faster access to amenities on the other side; communities to the north (towards Cancun) will have easier access to the malls and large stores like Sam's along the highway at the south end of town, as well as the eco-parks located just a bit further south. The crossing time should be approximately 10 minutes.

Communities on the south end of the city will have faster access to the Cancun international airport, which is about a 40 minute drive from the north end of the city; reduced time in crossing the city will help immensely in taking full advantage of this quick access.

The other way in which Playa del Carmen real estate will benefit is that downtown condo communities will enjoy reduced traffic on the major access roads, with shorter traffic light times to reach the other side of the highway.
