Podcasts Are New Media Trend: Peter Bowerman Guest On Podcast About Writing, Publishing And Marketing Books

Nashville, TN (PressExposure) December 29, 2006 -- Podcasts are pre-recorded teleclasses, seminars or audio workshops which are offered through services where people go to find music, movies, audio books, etc. Podcasts may be downloaded and saved on an mp3 player, an iPod, on a computer or any device that plays mp3 files, but unlike music and video downloads most podcasts are free.

Podcasts have become popular entertainment and educational tools for busy people. As an educational tool for people who want to learn more about the craft and business of writing, publishing and book publicity, Writers in the Sky Podcast is an excellent choice. This show offers interviews with authors and writers, as well as the latest news about books on the market, publishing methods and marketing techniques.

There are more than 30 informational shows already uploaded to Writers in the Sky podcast and a new program is added each week. Occasionally, a teleclass may be longer, but most of Yvonne’s classes are recorded in 15-minute segments people may listen to while traveling, cleaning the house, waxing the car, exercising, etc.

Peter Bowerman, author of The Well-Fed Writer series will be Yvonne Perry’s podcast guest on her show Writers in the Sky on January 5, 2007. Peter and Yvonne will be discussing the topic of Peter’s newest book The Well-Fed Self-Publisher: How to Turn One Book into a Full-Time Living (www.wellfedsp.com).

Here are a few items from Peter’s book that will be covered in the interview with Ms. Perry:

1. Why print-on-demand (POD) is a printing technology and not self-publishing,
2. Why most major retail bookstores do not readily accept self-published books
3. Why a book proposal is important even when you are self-publishing
4. The time line to get a book to market using a commercial
publisher versus how long it takes to get a completed manuscript to market via self-publishing
5. The difference between self-publishing and conventional publishing
6. The costs involved in self-publishing
7. Sales and marketing techniques
8. How to get your book into the catalogues and onto the shelves of bricks and mortar bookstores
9. Getting noticed on Amazon.com

Authors and writers will not want to miss this jam-packed hour of information about how to self-publish and market a book. You may listen to the interview on Writers in the Sky blog at http://yvonneperry.blogspot.com anytime on or after January 5, 2007.
