Foster City, CA (PressExposure) October 29, 2007 -- When asked to explain the phenomenon of why women all over the world are purchasing this popular t-shirt design, designer Sheryl Graham of SagArt T-Shirt Designs said she âbelieves it has become a slogan that todayâs woman can relate to in her own life.â
Grahamâs design of Well Behaved Women Never Make History is an adaptation of renowned Mormon author and feminist Laurel Thatcher Ulrichâs quote of Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History. âI decided to update the phrase based upon my own experience in life,â said Graham.
Sheryl Graham has held publicly elected offices in two states, is an independent business owner and a marketing consultant for world-wide corporate entities said being labeled a âgood girlâ was not something she ever aspired too. âIt usually meant that I was required to stand in the corner and be quiet, which is not something I am good at doing.â
She continued to explain that women strive for social, political, and economic equality. âThe continual lip-service about placing women in powerful positions is not enough. Women are capable of handling positions of power and the few that have reached that height of success are finding themselves recorded in history as anything but well-behaved.â Graham remains hopeful that her two year old granddaughter will experience life in a less gender-biased world as an adult woman.
Graham operates SagArt on CafePress.com, an online marketplace that offers sellers complete e-commerce services to independently create and sell a wide variety of customized products, and offers buyers unique merchandise across virtually every topic.
