President Obama Demands Bipartisanship

Atlanta, GA (PressExposure) February 10, 2010 -- President Obama addressed Republicans and Democrats in a surprise appearance intended motivate both parties to cooperate with each other. The President has hopes to stimulate job creation in order to help American's put some money back into their savings accounts. The unemployment rate was 9.7 % in January, slightly lower than Decembers 10%. In addition to job creation, Obama will address the national debt and healthcare.

Obama, generally known for light-hearted banter, chose a more firm approach with his rhetoric, "I won't hesitate to embraces a good idea from my friends in the minority party, but I also won't hesitate to condemn what I consider to be obstinacy." The president's main objective was to preach bipartisanship on the issues that face America.

"I'm willing to move off some of the preferences of my party to meet them halfway, but there has to be some give on their side as well," he said.

The President also called on senators to cease blocking the confirmation of government appointees in the Senate. Republican Senator Richard Shelby had previously placed a keep approximately 70 of Obama's nominees, delaying the Senate from addressing them. Shelby says that he will stop blocking the nominees.

The President also met with leaders of the House and the Senate along with numerous White House aides to discuss government vacancies, job creation, and environmental issues. Republican minority leader, Mitch McConnell, acknowledged that the discussions are far from over; but, that there are possible points of mutual agreement.
