The sport of paintball is played in such a way that players try to eliminate opponents by hitting them with pellets containing paint (known as a "paintball"), usually propelled from a CO2 or compressed-gas powered paintball gun.
Prolific Paintball offers a full line of paintball gear, markers and other accessories without the need for a retail walk-in facility. The website also sells a myriad of products from all of the major manufactures, carrying such popular markers as the Tippmann A5, the Invert Mini, the Spyder MR1, and the Smart Parts Ion to name a few.
Over the last four years, Prolific Industries has been doing remarkably well in the massage industry by specializing in massage stone supply using its massage website as platform. The bullet, or rather, the product item is different this time with ProlificPaintball. But the company is confident that it has gained sufficient knowledge in terms of E-commerce during its early years to be able to succeed in the new industry.
"We are doing really well in the massage industry using ecommerce as a platform to sell a stone previously sold in the landscape industry for ground cover as a tool for hot stone massage,â says managing partner Chris Turley, when asked why Prolific Industries is making such a drastic change in industry. âWe have gained a great deal of knowledge and expertise with our massage stone website and feel confident with our abilities to expand our business no matter what industry. Plus I used to be really involved in paintball when I was young and it sounded fun as a business."
Considering the whole economic downturn, this is a noteworthy feat for Prolific Industries as it tries to capitalize on the soft economy utilizing E-commerce mastery. While many are taking a step back and passing up opportunities for growth, Prolific Industries is still advancing forward albeit cautiously.
Mr. Turley explains that when people become overly cautious it provides the perfect opportunity to accentuate your strengths and gain market share. Prolific Industries plans to use the same recipe for success that it used to build its massage stone supply into a very respectable business venture.
"It has been challenging to get all of the products with descriptions and photos ready for the launch of the website,â says Chris Turley, noting that the company has to handle literally thousands of items from its more than 15 vendors. âAs we grow the business, we will continue to listen to customers as to what they would like to see us add to our website.â
Prolific Industries is off to a great start with its paintball website, despite the challenges. With very little capital being required for starting this new venture in the paintball industry, the company focuses almost all of its dollars on purchasing inventory and promoting its website. The company also eliminated additional warehouse expense for its paintball items as it has been able to share warehouse space with the massage stone processing and fulfillment equipment. Moreover, although it expects to be hiring more warehouse personnel and office staff in the near future, the company plans have been put in motion with the staff it currently has.
Prolific Industries seeks to carry a wide enough product offering to satisfy just about everything you can think of to do with paintball: everything from entry level guns to the mid-level Ion XE marker to the high-end tournament guns; all of the well-known paintball brands and the new comers such as the Pinokio Hopper; and accessories and gear for both speedball and woodsball.
