Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (PressExposure) August 27, 2014 -- Among the improved features of the plan include Life Change Benefit which provides policyholders with cash rewards as they experience significant events in their life such as marriage, and child birth.
Other new benefits include a sum assured bounce back feature where the basic sum assured will revert to the original amount 6 months after the policyholder has been diagnosed with carcinoma-in-situ, providing women with the increased protection should they subsequently be diagnosed with cancer. PRUlady customers will also enjoy 100% refund of total premiums paid upon maturity.
In conjunction with PAMB's 90th anniversary celebration this year, PAMB will be contributing RM90 for every PRUlady policy sold during the first 90 days from its launch date to the PRIDE foundation. The insurer aims to raise RM100,000 for the foundation whose aim is to enhance awareness efforts and improve accessibility to treatment and care of breast cancer at all levels of society. The collaboration was announced at PAMB's National Kick-Off Conference held at the Arena of Stars, Genting last week with PRIDE Foundation Chairperson Datin Azrene Abdullah representing the charity.
"PRUlady is designed to celebrate a woman's life and taking care of her changing needs as she goes through the highs and lows of her life to make sure that she has the means to stay strong and live her life to the fullest regardless of her circumstances," said Fiona Liao, Chief Marketing Officer of PAMB.
"We are proud to be collaborating with PRIDE in conjunction with the launch of the new PRUlady in support of their fight against breast cancer and promoting the awareness towards breast cancer in the country", added Liao.
"Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women worldwide afflicting more than one million women1 in the world. In Malaysia, 1 in every 19 women2 are affected with breast cancer. As with most cancers, the earlier breast cancer is detected and diagnosed, the better the chances of successful treatment. Our collaboration with corporates such as PAMB will go a long way in helping us in our efforts to educate women on the means and measures to combat breast cancer", said Datin Azrene Abdullah, Chairman, PRIDE Foundation.
As part of Prudential's initiatives to educate their agency force and staff on breast cancer, the company will be also organising a series of road shows with support from PRIDE at selected PAMB branches in Malaysia including their Headquarters in Menara Prudential and operations hub at Menara Tun Abdul Razak starting from March 2014 to June 2014.
