Belgravia, United Kingdom (PressExposure) January 09, 2009 -- The announcement that a group including Craig Holt, a leading London based barrister, has launched "QualitySolicitors.com", comes after it was revealed that Mr. Beresford had planned to bounce back by launching his own similar service. Mr. Holt's Quality Solicitors Organisation describes itself as an ethical service provider, offering a "revolutionary way to obtain legal services". It matches members of the public nationwide with the "ideal solicitor for their legal issue" across all areas of law. It aims to become a "one-stop shop" for all legal requirements. Its directors include Michael Gradon, a solicitor, who was the former head of Legal and Commercial Affairs at P&O group and twice nominated for the prestigious Lawyer Magazine In-House Lawyer of the Year awards.
Both companies come in light of the substantial changes envisaged by the Legal Services Act 2007 and foresee a radical change in the manner in which consumers obtain legal services. Whatever their legal problem consumers call a helpline or complete a web enquiry and their case is then assessed by highly trained case handler and passed to the most suitable solicitor within the membership of the organisation. Member solicitors can expect a massive amount of increased custom. It was revealed that a slot in Mr Beresford's service was to cost GBP 43,500 plus Vat per annum.
http://www.qualitysolicitors.com markets itself as guaranteeing the quality of its member solicitor firms and seeks to distance itself from Mr. Beresford's proposed service. Mr. Holt stated: "We employ rigorous selection criteria in choosing the solicitors we invite to join our organisation, specifically to protect the public from a situation such as occurred with Beresfords. We also obtain continued public feedback to ensure the consumer is getting the best possible professional service - a bit like 'TripAdvisor', but for UK solicitors." Mr. Holt is keen to remind people of the general high quality of the solicitor profession, "There are many, many very good solicitors out there who put their clients' interests first time and time again - we aim to steer the public towards those excellent solicitors. We hope to restore a bit of the public's faith back into the legal profession."
