Sydney, Nsw Australia (PressExposure) November 26, 2008 -- John McGrath, Founder and Chief Executive of McGrath Estate Agents, has been honoured by the Real Estate Institute of NSW with a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding contribution to the real estate industry.
Steve Martin, President of REINSW (www.reinsw.com.au), presented Mr. McGrath with the Woodrow Weight OBE Award, its highest honouree award bestowed by the Institute in front of 600 of his peers. Steve Martin said, "It is an absolute privilege to be honouring not only an outstanding estate agent but a person who has singlehandedly raised the bar in terms of ethics, marketing and professionalism. But above all, he is a man of outstanding character that is committed to make the world a better place, working with people less fortunate than ourselves on the street as well as his commitment to environmental issues.
"I have never met a more generous person in giving information, experience and assistance to people right across the board."
John McGrath started his real estate career at the age of 19 as a Letting Clerk for Gresham Hawkins Real Estate. Having started his from his lounge room in 1989, today he is at the helm of one of Australia's most successful real estate groups, selling over $3.5 billion last financial year.
On receiving the honour, Mr. McGrath said, "In 26 years, it is probably the greatest award that I have ever received. I'm honoured and humbled as this is more than a business, but something that I've been passionate about. I love it today just as much as when I started out."

This is the third consecutive year that McGrath has taken out the "Residential Sales Achievement Award" - highlighting the company commitment in setting the benchmark for outstanding service, through recruitment and training.
