Research Grant Available for Grief and Bereavement Study

Del Mar, CA (PressExposure) November 13, 2008 -- OpenSourceScience.net, a non-profit research organization, has announced a new research grant for studying the use of psychic mediums in grief and bereavement counseling. According to research coordinator, Dr. Joni Johnston, the study is much needed:

“While research has shown a link between spirituality, afterlife beliefs and the psychological well-being of the bereaved, the role of anomas loucognition, like mediumistic communication, has been largely ignored. Given the controversial nature of these topics this is understandable, but it's equally clear that these forms of communication are becoming accepted by bereavement counselors and end-of-life care providers. We hope to illustrate how rigorous and credible research can be conducted in this area.”

The research grant of $2,000 is intended for students with a masters or doctoral degree in counseling, clinical psychology, nursing, or related social science field. Candidates with experience working with bereaved family members, end-of-life health care providers, or other applied settings preferred. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Dr. Johnston at: joni@opensourcescience.net.
