Austin, TX (PressExposure) January 28, 2012 -- Can following a rheumatoid arthritis diet really help relieve rheumatoid arthritis pain? Author Michael Massie believes so, which is why he wrote The Amazing Rheumatoid Arthritis Diet book.
"Before I went on a rheumatoid arthritis diet a few years ago, I was virtually crippled," says Massie. "At one point my pain was so bad I had difficulty walking from my bedroom to my living room. It was a nightmare, and I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life experiencing that kind of pain and agony each day."
That's when Michael decided to put his education and background in the health sciences to use in researching alternative treatments for rheumatoid arthritis pain. "I quickly found that there's a lot of quackery out there with regards to managing and treating rheumatoid arthritis pain naturally. However, I also discovered information on a few relatively unknown studies that showed promising results for managing RA pain using dietary modifications."
After reviewing the results of these studies, Michael began researching the topic in earnest and started on a special diet for rheumatoid arthritis. "I started with a fast and began eliminating the foods that are most commonly suspected of causing flare-ups. The results were incredible; I noticed a significant reduction in pain and inflammation within just a few days."
However, Michael likes to emphasize that following a rheumatoid arthritis diet is not a cure for RA. "There is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. However, following a diet for rheumatoid arthritis can be very beneficial in helping RA sufferers with managing their rheumatoid arthritis pain." Three years after he adopted a special diet for arthritis, Michael claims he is about ninety percent pain-free. He shares his entire program in his recently released Kindle ebook, The Amazing Rheumatoid Arthritis Diet.
Approximately one percent of the population has rheumatoid arthritis. While not every person with the disease will develop the most debilitating form of RA, early intervention is critical for avoiding permanent disability and disfigurement of the extremities. Many experts on autoimmune disease believe that dietary modifications combined with modern medical interventions offers the best chances for success in treating this disease.
