Atlanta, GA (PressExposure) October 22, 2013 -- Schwartz International recently added Richard Hartnig to the Atlanta-based firm. He will provide international tax advisory services to the firm's growing customer base. Richard advises multinational corporations of all sizes on the tax aspects of cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, financings, cash repatriations and intercompany transactions. He has provided international tax counsel to large, publicly traded companies, including several Fortune 1000 businesses, counseling them on tax-advantaged debt structurings in 20 different countries. He also works extensively with both U.S. private equity funds investing outside the country and with non-U.S. funds investing in the U.S.
After beginning his career in the office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Washington, D.C., Richard worked with such notable firms as Troutman Sanders and PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than a decade each. He then spent three years with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan after which he joined Schwartz International. His depth of experience bolsters the ability of Schwartz International to provide its growing company and individual customer base with comprehensive international tax and business consulting.
Marc Schwartz, company founder and president, is enthusiastic about this addition to the firm: "We're excited that Richard is joining us and very pleased to be able to add his extensive knowledge to our group. He brings 30 years of practical, hands-on international experience and a great deal of in-depth tax understanding that will be invaluable to our customers. He is a significant asset to the Schwartz International team and we're all very much looking forward to working with him."
Richard is enthusiastic about the move as well, saying, "I am very pleased at the opportunity to work with the Schwartz International group. This new role will allow me to continue counseling international clients and use the knowledge I've gleaned over years of service, but in a small, intimate setting that lets me really focus on the relationship with individual customers. This is a great team that has the background to deliver the insights international customers are looking for, and I think it will be a perfect fit for my skills and experience."
