London, United Kingdom (PressExposure) February 09, 2009 -- Neil McGrigor, Race Organiser, said, âRB12 is working with Carbon Advice Group Plc to help reduce and offset the carbon emissions associated with the Round Britain Race. Our objective is to work closely with all the participants, support services and logistics involved with the Race to ensure the entire event is carbon neutral from beginning to the end.â
âWe are delighted to be working with such a high-profile event from the outsetâ said Carbon Advice Group Affiliate network founder Matthew Sullivan. âWe will help the organizers to look at the environmental impact of the race and will aim to minimize its carbon footprint as far as possible,â he continued.
Enabling individuals to become the âgo-toâ person in their company for carbon offsets, the Carbon Advice Group offers a compelling answer to the âWhat can I do?â response to global climate change issues. The Carbon Advice Group Multi-level Affiliate program empowers employees to lead their businesses in offsetting their carbon footprint.
About Carbon Advice Group: The Carbon Advice Group is the worldâs first multi-level affiliate network for social entrepreneurs. It provides individuals, organizations and businesses the much-needed ability to accurately measure the size of their carbon footprint, deliver methods to reduce it as much as possible and then provide a simple, reliable, high quality mechanism to offset the remaining carbon footprint.
The Carbon Advice Group allows employees to take an active role in the emerging green economy by setting up their own affiliate site to provide and sell carbon offsets. The site offers motivated individuals, employees and businesses a short process to set up their own micro-site to promote and sell carbon offsets as part of the Carbon Advice Groupâs network.
Carbon offsetting enables individuals and businesses to compensate for unavoidable emissions by purchasing equivalent greenhouse gas savings. With the Carbon Advice Group, these savings can come from wind power, biomass power, or a renewable energy charitable contribution.
Available carbon credits meet international standards and goals outlined in the Kyoto Agreement. Offices that purchase carbon offsets will receive certificates, car windscreen permit-style displays and luggage tags so they can clearly demonstrate their green credentials.

McGrigor has appointed Lynx Sports Management to help run the event and ensure the various environmental, safety and maritime issues are correctly covered. The 2012 race, supported by the Royal Yachting Association, will be limited to 50 boats. The final route, classes and also race categories will be finalised over the coming months, however it is confirmed to start & finish in London just prior to the start of the 2012 Olympic Games.
