Moscow, Russian Federation (PressExposure) August 12, 2010 -- On July 1, 2010, SGS Russia was awarded a contract by one of the largest companies in the metallurgical sector in Russia to provide Supply Chain Services for the construction project of a metallurgical plant in Russia.
The project requires a reliable third-party company in order to guarantee quality during the complete supply chain. Due to its previous successes on a similar project, SGS, the world´s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, was chosen to provide Supply Chain Services for the construction project of this new metallurgical plant.
During the one year contract, SGS will provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control throughout the overall supply chain of the construction project. SGS will perform Quality Control of delivered equipment and materials, third party quality inspection during the installation of technological equipment onsite, as well as commissioning services.
SGS will verify deliveries through checks, inspections and witnessing in order to ensure that delivered materials and equipment satisfy customer requirements in a systematic and reliable way, and that they are in accordance with all contractual specifications and standards. Besides, four experienced SGS Mechanical Engineers will check and inspect the quality and quantity of deliveries and test samples.
SGS carries out the inspection of delivered materials and equipment in accordance with quality control procedures and a checklist relating to specific types of equipment, operational factors and the vendor's quality control system.
SGS Quality Assurance and Quality Control services give the facility owner confidence that structures, components, materials or systems meet pre-stated quality standards and will perform satisfactorily during service.
