São Paulo, Brazil (PressExposure) September 20, 2010 -- An INMETRO accreditation is required for foreign conformity assessment bodies to undertake certification and issue the applicable certificate of conformity.
In August 2010, SGS laboratories in Hong Kong and Shenzhen have gained INMETRO accreditation which allow them to conduct tests for both system 5 and system 7. Upon a client's request can pick up samples at the factory and conduct testing at the Hong Kong and Shenzhen facilities. SGS testing reports are reviewed by the local accredited certification assessment body (e.g. INNAC) and issue the certificate of compliance. This will enable the importer to place the INMETRO mark on products destined for the Brazilian market.
