Bellingham, WA (PressExposure) December 01, 2009 -- SIRCO's newest line of water samplers, the 4000 Series, are built with vacuum-pump technology and are capable of taking reliable samples with limited or no maintenance. Typically, automatic water sampling equipment requires a great deal of maintenance and supervision. Most water samplers require regular tubing replacements and need to be checked on regularly to ensure they are taking proper samples.
Unlike peristaltic water samplers, the vacuum-system involves no moveable parts that touch the source liquid. The vacuum pump is completely separate from the intake tube. They system creates a vacuum which draws water into a metering chamber before releasing it into the final collection bottle. No parts wear down quickly with this method, and the sampler can be counted for reliable, consistent performance for decades of rigorous use.
This finely tuned system has many major advantages besides needing less replacement parts. Samples are drawn in more quickly, resulting in greater accuracy of source liquid. Unlike peristaltic samplers which pinch tubing as the water is drawn in, SIRCO Samplers draw liquid in directly through a vacuum, resulting in less cross-contamination between samples.
The vacuum-system also allows for higher lifts, greater distances (over 250 feet away is no problem!), and higher volume (66% to 150% more) with a larger intake tube, which helps with source fluid that has large particulate.
