London, Uk (PressExposure) May 20, 2009 -- Increasing numbers of British language learners are taking the opportunity to improve their language skills overseas. If you want to learn Spanish in Spain or learn French in France then there are some great opportunities to do so now. To meet this burgeoning demand, Saint George International has now launched the SGI Study Abroad scheme, with students being able to study at SGI partner language schools in France, Spain, Italy and Germany.
More and more British people realise the growing importance of being able to communicate effectively in another language. Whether for career, re-location or socialising, learning another language has become an important consideration, particularly in these troubling economic times. The SGI Study Abroad scheme is expected to meet this demand with a great range of language courses
in the countries where the language being learnt is spoken
Max Loach, School Director of Saint George International discusses the SGI Study Abroad scheme and how increasing number s of British people are honing their language skills with language courses in the country of the language they are studying.
âSince 1962 students from all over the world have been learning languages with us here at Saint George International London (SGI) and the launch of our the SGI Study Abroad scheme is an exciting new addition to the range of courses we can offer the public. The SGI Partner schools are all at the high quality end of the language teaching market and students can be rest assured that they will be getting an excellent service. So if you are learning German or learning Italian then why not experience studying in those countries where they speak the language. That way you eat, live and breathe the language in a way you just canât do at home. The immersion experience definitely worksâ
Saint George International: People of all ages can learn a language
âThere is a marked increase in interest now in learning other languages and the SGI Study Abroad options are a great complement to any language learning you are doing in the UK, âexplains Tommi Muttonen, Head of Business Development at Saint George International. âCurrently we have 14 Study Abroad partners in France, Italy, Spain and Germany with more in the pipeline.â
Max Loach explains that the introduction of the SGI Study Abroad scheme began in earnest in April 2008, with the signing of the first partnership with the Alpha-B language school in Nice, France. He met with his counterpart from Alpha-B at the annual meeting of EAQUALS, a pan-European association of high-quality language schools. Since then, new partnerships have steadily been added to the register - there are now French language courses at schools in Montpelier, Paris and Vichy as well as Nice. Spanish courses are available in Malaga, Salamanca, Madrid and Barcelona. You can also learn German in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich and learn Italian in Rome, Florence and Milan.
Max is enthusiastic about the future. âWe are excited to see the build up of more and more partner schools in Europe. We anticipate adding to the current list with new partners in Russia, Portugal, Greece and Holland before the end of the year. I think the whole idea of language travel and study holidays will really take off in the UK over the next few years. People of all ages can learn a language. Learning English is already a significant segment of inbound tourism to the UK with huge numbers of people coming to the UK to study English for work, social and academic purposes. Thereâs every reason to believe it can work the other way "
All SGI Study Abroad partners offer an exclusive 'mother tongue' approach to language learning with qualified native-speakers and plenty of individual attention with small group sizes. Local flavour is often added through afternoon options focusing on special interest areas (such as cooking in France or visual arts in Italy.)
