Calgary, Canada (PressExposure) July 08, 2013 -- The Salt Crystal Spa, Calgary ( http://www.saltairtherapy.ca ), which is one of its kind in all the other spa centers, is more than excited to announce that they have been registered to participate in the 16th International Congress of Speleotherapy to be held later this month in Czech Republic. The Salt Crystal Spa offers a unique treatment therapy to its patients known as "halotherapy" or "salt therapy". This method of treatment of various serious diseases has been practiced in many countries across the globe. The therapy is based on the method of treatment called "speleotherapy" which means treatment of a patient carried out in a salt cave or an underground salt mine. The use of the therapy roots back to the earlier times when it was used for medicinal purposes. Presently, it exists in the form of a cave called the Akvazanta cave located in Italy. Patients with health disorders like asthma, arthritis, rheumatism, metabolic and gynecological diseases, hypertension, gout and many others are treated here without the use of any kind of medication or antibiotics.
A Halotherapy program consists of 10 - 15 daily sessions of varying lengths for children and adults suffering from health disorders. This therapy can be taken in combination with other physiotherapeutic treatments such as aromatherapy, aeroionotherapy and other drug free methods of treatment. There is an exhaustive list of diseases that can be treated using this method; some of them are namely bronchitis, allergies, skin diseases, respiratory disorders and depression.
The Speleotherapy Commission established in 1969 works for bringing scientists working in this area together from all parts of the world and carry out further research on the treatment therapy.
