Tyler McGee joins this month as Vice President of Telecommunications at Samsung Electronics Australia, a new role responsible for building on the success and growth seen in 2008 to become the leading mobile phone brand in Australia within the next two years. Formerly the President of Nokia Japan and Vice President North East Asia, Tyler was responsible for the strategic management and operational management within Japan and Korea. As VP of sales he was also responsible for Nokia's sales across a number of countries.

Supporting this restructured team is Maxime Bonpain who joins the mobile team from Samsung UK in a new role as Head of Marketing, Telecommunications, Samsung Electronics Australia. Previously Maxime was responsible for brand management in London, focusing on PR and communications and working on strategic alliances, as well as events and sponsorship. Maxime will use his vast experience with Samsung to aggressively support the sales efforts through innovative marketing and communications strategies.
Across Australia in 2008, Samsung sold one handset every 16 seconds cementing its position as the number two mobile brand. By reinforcing the existing teamâs prowess, Samsung becomes a real contender for the number one spot in the market.
