Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PressExposure) July 08, 2007 -- Scorpion Roller Rocker Arms were used in an engine rebuilt for a Factory Five Racing MK III Roadster. This project using a classic Ford focused on horsepower while retaining the original size of the engine for nostalgic purposes of restoration. The article âProject Snake Charmerâ by Wayne Cook in Mustang & Fords, takes us through the rebuild of this engine.
To replace the original big-block powered Cobra engine, the team used a Smeding built 427 Cobra Special engine to achieve high performance while retaining fuel economy. Using some of the most advanced high performance components available, the engine team chose Scorpion Roller Rocker Arms to complete the valve system to attain the highest possible performance.
Achieving just shy of 500 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm, this engine provides more horsepower at the lower rpm which gives it outstanding âoff-the-lineâ performance while retaining a more usable rpm range for ordinary driving. The use of Scorpion Roller Rocker Arms provides the highest performance and reliability in achieving this goal.
