Bellingham, WA (PressExposure) September 06, 2013 -- Ranger Self Defense is celebrating one year in business as an online self defense supply store. The company has already developed a successful business, working with customers coast-to-coast. Founded by Edward Caldwell, the company is based on his passion for fighting crime and helping others get courage and resolve to defend themselves.
The business start-up was inspired by self defense training and knowledge that Ed learned 25 years ago, when he lived in a major metropolitan city made stagnant by violent crime.
Biography: Edward Caldwell, age 52, is originally from mid Missouri. He studied podiatry, sciences and business, and was a successful podiatrist and practice builder. As anti-doctor health care reforms started to spread across the United States, Edward sold his practice and began looking for new opportunities.
"I owe my interest in fighting crime to my parents. If a bully bothered me in school my dad took time to show me some boxing moves. My parents told me to teach the bully some respect."
"This is all about getting back to my roots. But the internet pulled me too, as a new frontier for business. Americans spend so much time online, reading, gaming and looking for the products they want, that the whole idea seemed to be a natural."
Ed currently lives and operates Ranger Self Defense in Bellingham, Washington, on the northwest coast, just south of the US-Canadian border. "Eventually I had to move out of the metroplex where I was living, and look for a less hurried lifestyle where people still could maintain a relaxed vibe during their daily lives. I look back, through the news so to speak, and crime waves hit the big metro areas the hardest."
A political maven as well, Ed goes further, "The last thing I would expect to see is laws against firearm ownership springing up everywhere. These political maneuvers are happening at a time when being unarmed is just not rational. Self defense is a right, not a privilege."
For those seeking non-firearm weapons, Ed is quick to provide whatever information the public requests.. "Most questions have been about DIY home security, or what non-lethal weapons to have at home or in the car. We make sure the nuances of every product we have are clear to our customers. We have to dispel a lot of myths about what works and what doesn't"
Congratulations to Ranger Self Defense for completing their first year in business.
