Upland, CA (PressExposure) October 06, 2009 -- Nationally syndicated television talk show "The Doctors" recently featured Rancho Cucamonga dermatology practice Skin Physicians and Surgeons (SkinPS) in a segment that addressed Zeronaâ¢, a non-invasive laser technique designed to reduce fat and shrink fat cells without surgery. The broadcast joins the extensive media coverage surrounding Zerona, including Harper's Bazaar Magazine and other outlets who have reported on the Zerona method of body sculpting.
The procedure is gaining traction among cosmetic enhancement patients, many of whom have hoped for a non-invasive body contouring method to make its way to the mainstream - particularly one that serves as a viable alternative to liposuction. Many physicians agree that with no incisions or patient downtime, Zerona does indeed serve as a liposuction substitute. Additionally, its current cost is significantly less than liposuction and other surgical body sculpting procedures.
Sandra Lee, M.D., one of three board certified dermatologists at SkinPS, explained that the cost of liposuction vs. the cost of Zerona is clearly in Zerona's favor. "People really see that this is a cost benefit to them," she said. The Rancho Cucamonga dermatologist went on to say that the procedure, during which the patient remains awake and alert, is comprised of a series of six treatments over a span of two weeks. The duration of most sessions is about 40 minutes.
The procedure works by stimulating the release of fat from cells, which is absorbed by the lymphatic system and then naturally excreted from the body. Studies have shown it can eliminate up to three and a half inches from the hips, thighs or waist.
