Baildon, United Kingdom (PressExposure) September 03, 2008 -- Slingsby the industrial and commercial equipment specialists, have been awarded a certificate by the Better Business Environment Forum in Bradford in recognition of the excellent environmental management that has been undertaken at the organization. From 2006 - 2007 Slingsby reduced the amount of waste they sent to landfill by 53% through the promotion and implementation of recycling schemes for cardboard, plastic cups, paper and even metal, wood and plastics. Their headquarters, which were refurbished only 2 years ago, are extremely energy efficient thanks to a hi-tech heating system and excellent insulation and in March 2008 their Environmental Management System was formally accredited in meeting the requirements of the International Standard BS EN ISO 14001:2004. Slingsby have also recently purchased a new compactor which they hope will reduce the volume of waste they send to landfill by another 50%.
Slingsby have a twice yearly catalogue contains over 35,000 products for the workplace, including a range of environmental and waste management products to help organizations set up their own recycling and waste reducing schemes.
