Otley Road, United Kingdom (PressExposure) January 12, 2009 -- A TEAM of employees from industrial and commercial equipment supplier, Slingsby, have raised more than £1,500 for Breast Cancer Campaign after hosting a range of fund-raising initiatives including a gruelling 118 mile cycle ride in just 10 hours.
The ride saw four teams of cyclists complete a relay style ride along the Leeds to Liverpool canal that started in the Mersey city and followed the canal tow-path back to the company's headquarters at Baildon.
Other events to support the 'Wear it Pink' Day, which was organised by Breast Cancer Campaign and encouraged people throughout the UK to wear pink clothing for a day, included a raffle, cake making and a car wash.
Dominc Slingsby, Managing Director of Slingsby, who participated in the cycle ride explains: âAll these fund-raising events have been great fun and gave everyone in our organisation the opportunity to use their imagination and come up with a way of supporting Breast Cancer Campaign.
âEveryone that took part in the bike ride thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and worked as a close team, which is part of Slingsby's ethos, to complete the ride. This was a great achievement and we've now already planning further challenges for next year.â
