Soundscape Artist ROB ASTOR Releases Brand New Christmas EP CHRISTMAS MIRACLES

Jackson, MI (PressExposure) October 21, 2013 -- "Christmas comes early for anyone working in retail," says Rob Astor. "For musicians, it comes around the beginning of summer. In order to have something ready for the holiday season, you start planning and working really far in advance!" In order to have CHRISTMAS MIRACLES ready for the season this year, Rob Astor did just that.

CHRISTMAS MIRACLES, Rob Astor's brand new holiday EP, will lend all the Christmas cheer you need as it brightens your mood with four of the best loved Christmas songs of all time nestled together with Rob Astor's first ever original seasonal themed track, "Snow Flake Jazz". "The urge to compose something for Christmas finally took hold of me this year," Rob says. "The mood was right. The writing and recording went really well. Everything came together."

Much like his previous Christmas offerings (SHINE A LITTLE LIGHT CHRISTMAS COLLECTION, ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS STAR) Rob Astor's new EP, CHRISTMAS MIRACLES, features a wide variety of styles condensed into five tracks.

First in the CHRISTMAS MIRACLES set is a classical version of "Joy To The World" which has an arrangement inspired by an unusual source. "I call this version my 'Harry Potter' version. When I started working on 'Joy To The World', I was watching a few of the Harry Potter films and I wondered what it might sound like if the Hogwarts band was playing it. Thus, this version was born."

From classical to electro-pop, "Silent Night" dances in and almost gallops along with sweeping flutes and keyboards before breaking out the Christmas sleigh bells and turning back for a second helping of joy this song is intended to bring to all of Christianity's faithful. Rob Astor's new version of "Silent Night" has to be one of the most energetic in existence.

Featured at the center of CHRISTMAS MIRACLES is Rob Astor's very first holiday original in the jazzy tune "Snow Flake Jazz". The music swaggers in and floats around like playfully falling snowflakes blanketing the landscape. Subtle strings and brass compliment piano changes, lending the feeling of sitting by a warm fire before the music transforms into a snowflake, falling through an octave of changes to its end.

"Boogie Woogie Jingle Bells" revives the sound of the big band era. "My grandparents lived through World War II and went to see some of the big bands touring in the ten or fifteen years after the war. Of course, grandparents are essential to any holiday season. I wanted to do something special to honor them and their memory," Rob says. "This arrangement was inspired by my grandparents. I can see them happily reunited and forever dancing in this piece of music."

Rollicking right along, CHRISTMAS MIRACLES ends on an even more up-beat high note with a percussion laden "Deck The Halls" that bounces the listener along and dares them not to dance. With five distinct styles, CHRISTMAS MIRACLES prove Rob Astor's new EP is one well-rounded package condensed into five sonic infused tracks.

Every Christmas, there are any number of holiday collections worth picking up. Few are true must have gems. Rob Astor's new EP, CHRISTMAS MIRACLES, falls into the latter category. Be sure to get your copy today!
