With the business of beauty proving increasingly lucrative in the Middle East region, there has been a large number of spa and salon launches in the region. In the increasingly competitive market place business owners, managers and directors are looking at new and innovative ways to expand business and retain customers.
Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Beautyworld Middle East - the largest international trade fair for beauty products, hair, fragrances and well being in the Middle East - has reported a strong surge of interest among the regional beauty and wellness industry in the Spa and Salon Management Summit being held alongside the trade fair. The Summit will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 30th and 31st, the second and third days of Beautyworld Middle East.
In its second year, the Spa and Salon Management Summit 2012 features an expanded programme in re-sponse to growing demand and the response generated by the inaugural event. The objective of the 2012 Summit is to educate owners, managers and directors in the many aspects of business operations in order to increase revenue, gain new insights into maximizing efficiency & profitability and learn how to adopt a market specific approach to marketing.
The conference will address: Beauty and Bureaucracy; the Business of Beauty; Marketing and Branding; and Staff Retention and Engagement. The programme includes presentations and interactive discussion sessions which will be conducted by international and local experts about the rules & regulations governing the business, the latest trends & developments, and tips & tricks for increasing exposure using social media.
"The Spa and Salon Management Summit was a success at its debut last year, underlining the added value that such conferences bring to industry-encompassing events such as Beautyworld Middle East," said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. The first day of the Summit, May 30th, will begin with a series of talks and discussions surrounding the topic of "Beauty and Bureaucracy". Naseem Rafee, Head of Consumer Products Safety Section at Dubai Municipality will present on Product Registration and Standardisation. With an increasing number of products entering the market, it is important that all products meet the standards set by government authorities to ensure public safety. This will be followed by Rafid Ghuloom, Head of Dubai Municipality's Control Section with a presenta-tion on inspections.
During the afternoon's session which covers the Business of Beauty there will be a presentation from Romain Saada, Founder & CEO of RSVP Worldwide on 'Maximising efficiency and profitability for your business'. Saada who has been running a spa revenue management concept in the Middle East since 2008 and is part of the Benchmarking Alliance Research, said: "For the last 4 years I have been trying to create awareness for spa operators to share their figures using a benchmarking company and I strongly believe that spa managers should be educated in analytics."
Sarah Cross, Managing Director at Uber UK Limited will speak on 'Creating customers for life'. The Summit will comprise a range of additional topics over the two days. The annual trade fair attracts buyers, retailers, distributors and beauty industry professionals from the wider region.
