West Yorks, United Kingdom (PressExposure) August 12, 2009 -- Give the kids a holiday to remember before the schools go back and visit the Norland Scarecrow Festival in Calderdale, South Pennines, from 4th to the 8th September.
Now in its 10th year, this quirky and creative event started as a community millennium celebration to raise funds for the village. It proved so popular that 10 years on the event is still going strong with more amazing entries and more visitors every year!
The theme this year is Myths, Legends & Fairytales. There are usually around 80 scarecrows created by people in the community and local junior school children and trail sheets are available for visitors to follow.
Other attractions during the festival include scarecrow goodies, food and drink, music, an old-fashioned fun fair and a barrel organ.
To make the most out of a trip to the Norland Scarecrow Festival, there is a wide range of accommodation available in the locality but there is none more special and unique than Croft Mill, situated in nearby Hebden Bridge.
Croft Mill is a recently converted mill in the heart of the town offering 4-star accommodation to the discerning holidaymaker or business traveller and would make an ideal base for visitors to the Scarecrow Festival.
âCroft Millâ has been lovingly restored to offer 12 immaculate and stylish 4-star self-catering holiday apartments to suit all needs and budgets.
Croft Mill can accommodate 45 guests in 12 apartments ranging from Standard (which is anything but) to a luxury Penthouse and even boasts a rooftop conservatory that is available to book for small functions.
The Croft Mill website at www.croftmill.com contains photography and a virtual tour of each luxurious apartment and there are more special offers as well as a booking enquiry form, a list of local events and information about the town and surrounding area.
