Allentown, PA (PressExposure) April 21, 2011 -- Stellar Catch a Rising Star Basketball Showcase recognized by 2007 tournament MVP Jimmer Fredette during March Madness Interview. Allentown, PA, April 10, 2011: July is approaching fast and that means basketball recruiting begins and the Stellar Construction "Catch A Rising Star" Basketball Showcase is on the way. The tournament will begin on July 6, 2011 and continue over the next four nights with the championship games set for Sunday, July 10, 2011.
The Stellar showcase is the nation's largest outdoor Boys and Girls (Varsity and Junior Varsity) high school-affiliated tournament and every year has grown is size due to exposure and a rich tradition that includes past stars such as Rip Hamilton (Detroit Pistons), Donyell Marshall (former NBA player), Aaron Gray (Bulls and Hornets), Jimmer Fredette (2007 Stellar MVP and BYU) and Darrun Hilliard (committed to Villanova in 2011) just to name a few have played in the tournament.
"Coaches, players and fans all agree that the Stellar "Catch A Rising Star" Showcase is one of the finest high school events in the country and gives teams from all over the nation the opportunity to compete in front of major college scouts in a high-spirited arena," tournament director Glen Klein said. "We look forward to seeing the passionate fans and die-hard competition and expect some heated match-ups again this year. If you want to see where your team ranks with other powerhouse teams, this is the tournament as a coach you want to be in. "
The Stellar "Catch a Rising Star" Basketball Showcase has been covered both regionally as well as nationally by TV2 Sports, The Morning Call (Allentown, Pa.), Orlando Sentinel, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and every major newspaper from the area the teams come from including Pennsylvania hotbeds such as Philadelphia, Reading, Lancaster and Harrisburg. This adds up to major exposure for your team as well as college recruiters showing up on Saturday and Sunday to scout players. Clearly, this event has everything a player and coach could want at one venue.
The tournament has a double-elimination structure and we do everything possible to accommodate any special requests due to travel.
