, (PressExposure) June 30, 2006 -- Innovative Solutions announced today that Steve Farmer has recently earned the status of IAF- Certified Professional Facilitator ⢠(IAF-CPFâ¢). Mr. Farmer earned the highly respected designation CPF after successfully completing an intensive competency evaluation held by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) recently in Baltimore, Maryland.
"More and more clients want to see evidence to assure them that the facilitator they are hiring has the credentials to do the job," said Mr. Farmer. "Now I can tell them that I am one of a growing number of professionals from around the world who has demonstrated to a panel of leading facilitation professionals that I have the competencies and skill to do the job!"
In early 1998, IAF recognized the growing reliance of global businesses on facilitation services. With facilitation becoming a crucial tool for accelerating productivity and strategic alignment in organizations, IAF recognized that there was no clear way for clients to assess the capability of those who offered facilitation services. In answer to that need, the IAF Certification Program, an assessment based on five core competencies, was created.
"Today, the Canadian government, as part of their contracting process, is beginning to require that the applicants for specific projects be IAF-CPFs", says Cameron Fraser, President of RANA International and an IAF-CPF Assessor. Although still a 'new' standard, certification has gained rapid acceptance in the business world. IAF reports that at this time there are over 300 IAF-CPFs world wide, and that certification is accelerating as more facilitators rush to be assessed.
The designation, IAF-Certified Professional Facilitator, is granted to a candidate after they have demonstrated evidence of competency in five core facilitation competency areas. In this in-depth certification assessment, candidates must successfully display their capabilities in writing, through interviews, and then through a demonstration of facilitation skill. The process takes several months to complete, and is recognized as a serious commitment to the field.
To quote Mr. Farmer, "My recent certification demonstrates mastery of my field. Successfully completing IAF's rigorous application and assessment process is a big accomplishment, and I am very proud to say that I am an IAF-CPF, a Certified Professional Facilitator. I am joining a small, but growing group of facilitators who have been acknowledged as leaders in their field."
